WTTF 1956 Topps Baseball
 

Slowly making progress. When it is all done, my hope is to have graded HOFers and no creases - however, at this point, I want to get the binder full and then concentrate on upgrading later.

I have doubles of Mantle in '62 & 63. I upgraded after I got mine back from PSA. My 63 PSA 6 doesn't look markedly different than my 3, but, that is why they are the pros and I am the guy that pays mint prices for VG cards...the 62 is a 3.5.

I would really like to make some good progress on the 56 commons in VG-EX to EX-MT condition. If the deal doesn't make sense for both of us, hopefully we can part as friends.

Updated to reflect changes. I would prefer to trade 56 for 56, but will consider selling Robinsons and/or Banks

I have 9 additional commons coming in trade. I haven't identified them yet, but hopefully, I will have the list reflected by tomorrow or Wednesday.

I probably should have been clearer in the original description. My M.O. has been to buy a low or mid-grade set and then upgrade. With the exception of '67, this has been what I have done. 67 was collected card by painful card. I am now doing that with '56, but at least it is 342 cards vs 609.

As a result, all of my doubles are cards that I have upgraded. Therefore, they are somewhat of an island of misfit toys. A crease here, a wrinkle there, heavy OC, a mark on the card, etc. The Mantles are solid trade value because even though they are 3 and 3.5's, it has pretty clear VCP/SMR value to square up. I do not want to run into a situation where I make a trade and leave someone disappointed upon receipt.
