The guy in the middle looks familiar, but the guy on the end is a total mystery to me. Considering Walsh was the agent for both Gehrig and McCarthy, he could've arranged a meet and greet for anyone.
Is it for sale or just looking for information?

Looking at McCarthy's glove, I would say the other 2 are Glove Salesmen

i dont think thats Frank Leahy in the middle, it looks a bit like him but Leahy was born in 1908 which would make him 32 at most in this picture. The guy in the middle looks older than 32. Whomever it is was relatively well off based on how he's dressed expensive, shirt and suit.

I believe his name is Vinny. Are last names required to win the $100?

The guy in the middle looks like Joseph V. McKee who was mayor of New York for a very short time in 1932.

Lou Gehrig Joe McCarthy Christy Walsh are easy Bobby jones and either Olin Dura or Walter Hagen? on the ends

Can't be Jones, who was 5' 8", while Gehrig stood at 6'.

I really don't see how that could be Walsh.

As for the rest of the guesses in this thread I am starting some people need to see their doctor about getting diagnosed for Prosopagnosia.

It is similar to the ebay postings of photos that always have a young Wagner, Ruth, or Cobb on some farm team.

I see this same question was asked some time ago, so I'm just wondering...

do you actually know who all 5 individuals are in the photo, or are you stumped and asking for identification? If it's the latter, how will you ever know if someone gets it right?

Either way, it's nice of you to offer up the $100 reward.

Probably post-Ruth unless Gehrig is receiving an award, but I see no award. DiMaggio was a stud in 1937/38, so wouldn't he be in a photo-shoot like this?

Probably 1935-36, if at a World Series it is either the Giants (1936,37) or the Cubs (1938).

What stadium is that in the background? Polo Grounds? The field looks shitty and the guy on the left is wearing cowboy boots.

If you go with the 1935 or 36 World Series, away game at the Polo Grounds, does that help?

So you don't actually know who is in the photo? :confused: That info would have been pertinent at the start of this "contest".... Three of these guys in this photo could be joe blows from Jersey.

I doubt it. All of the available clues say otherwise.

Could the man in the middle be Alfred Smith, governor of New York during the 20's?

What are the available clues? Nice clothes? Most everyone dressed like that in the 1930s.

From a football person who knows very little about early baseball legends:

Walsh, Gehrig, Charles Lindbergh, McCarthy, Howard Hughes.

Joseph McKee - NY City politician and interim Mayor in 1932. Looks like the guy in the middle to me.

Definitely not Lindbergh. He would have only been about 30 when this photo was taken. The man in the middle looks to be at least ten to fifteen years older than that. Plus he doesn't really look like him.

I think there is a decent chance the man on the left next to Gehrig is Howard Hughes, who would have been 25 to 30 when this photo was taken:

The problem is, I can identify the five guys in front but I can only identify about half of the people sitting in the stands. :(

photo was probably taken on their Spring training trip back to New York playing their minor league affiliates and ending up playing a Game at West Point.
