1914 The Art Stamp League of America Album w/Youth's Companion Marquard
10 Attachment(s)
Title pretty much sums it up. Need to further investigate the year of origin now, since previously these Youth's Companion stamps have been deemed 1917. The album is approximately 7 x 11 inches. I won't be soaking any of these :) ...some things are better left alone.

I purchased 4 of these Art Stamp League albums at an estate auction a year or two back...in the 500 or 600 stamps there were no baseball.

great item Leon!

I'm from from an expert on the series, but doesn't this simply mean the album was produced in 1914? I don't necessarily see anything that can tie the actual stamps to 1914. Given how many different stamps were produced, isn't it likely they were distributed over many years, which means 1917 may still be appropriate?

The two stamps right above that round red sticker are cataloged in the American Card Catalog as E279 from Sparrows chocolates. A sheet of (4) stamps......really cool album/Marquard stamp.........there are some beautiful stamps like that from that time period....they call them 'Cindarellas' or poster stamps.

edited to add, this whole thread was really just to show a neat little stamp album not often seen. The ensuing discussion is fun too!! |
