1928 T. Contiero #78 Babe Ruth just sold on ebay?

I thought i had a shot with the price at 295, my snipe at 552 and 28 min left. Jumped in shower and when i returned i wasn't even close lol.

I think from some research i did it was once owned by pencil a guy on this board

Wasn't me, I have had one for several years. Don't see many of them though. Does anyone know what it sold for? It wasn't the $995 was it?

Leon- it sold for 611.06, yes i do believe it was the same card but graded this time.

I think the card would have gone higher but Harold Lloyd's name was misspelled in the auction title, thus limiting the silent movie star multiplication factor normally witnessed in such cards.

But seriously, neat card...definitely cooler than the E121 of Ruth holding a bird and standing next to the creepy looking little man in a suit.

Yep this is the one I did own. I sold it to a collector friend of mine for a bit more than what it sold for. I won't say how much as I feel bad as it wasn't even close. I told him to hang onto if for a while.
