help with potentially signed Pete Maravich 1978 topps
I was rummaging through my graded card collection and found a graded signed 1978 topps #80 Pete Maravich but it is BCG graded signed ... I do not completely trust this company I would like to know if my card is indeed authentic. For some reason I cannot post pictures here from my phone but I can email pictures to people, can someone help me post it here?
My email address is Vintagecollectors@yahoo.com Thanks If it is authentic in would like to sell it. |
Maravich didn't play baseball before he was born, did he? This should probably go in the Autograph section or the B/S/T or basketball board.

Yeah my mistake

Is BCG a trusted authentication company? I have heard of BGS and BVG authenticating cards; however, this company is new to me.

My gut feeling says no. I got him in person and he wrote "Pistol Pete' only. I asked him for his father's address as he also played pro ball and he wrote Maravich on that index card. When I wrote his father I got 3 index back signed by both Press and Pete and on those he still wrote only "Pistol Pete". This looks a bit too neat.

Agreed, I think its no good. His signature was usually pretty sloppy (hurried) and he almost always signed it simply "Pistol Pete"

The "M" in maravich has always bugged me

As I said in the BST trade side where you also posted this, no way. This is a terrible forgery.

Edward,
That is not an authentic Pistol Pete Maravich autograph. Mike |
Yours is bad

That is a high quality Pistol Pete signature. Wow
