Soaking a Sanella Margarine?
 

Hey, so recently I purchased a book that contains all of the Sanella Margarine cards, including the Ruth. The cards themselves seem to have a really thin stock to them, and are glued to each of the book's pages. I'm wondering, has anyone had any experience in removing these cards from the book? And if so, is it possible to soak the card as a means of removing the glue? I saw a recent thread on here about soaking, and I notice a lot of the Ruth cards in outstanding condition, so I figured there must be some good techniques to preserving the Sanellas. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Depending on what glue is used I don't know of any problems soaking that type card. IF it were me I would try a card that isn't valuable first and then move to the Ruth card(s) after that. I don't have personal experience soaking that particular series though.

Yeah I have an extra of the japanese catcher, so ill prob try with that card. Anybody else done this before?

I bought a whole set of those off eBay many years ago... And they all are curved... So I would assume that they were soaked... As they were intended to be pasted in a book. They should soak fine.

The comical answer, of course, is that soaking margarine will result in a slippery stick.
