FS: Cleveland Indians 1948 World Series black bat
Here's a little info on these, from Beckett's website, if you need it:
World Series Commemorative Black Bats are produced in limited numbers by Hillerich and Bradsby. The only bat not produced by H and B was the 1934 Tigers model. Black bats are given to various VIP's, league and team officials each December. Post 1937 Black Bats contain facsimile player signatures, usually in either green or gold ink. Pre-1938 bats are brown in color, rather than the traditional black. Beginning in 1991, the number of Black Bats issued fell sharply from previous years and command premium prices. *** I conservatively grade this a 7 on a scale of 1-10. No drastic problems like chips or gouges, it's just not a shiny, bold "10" with high gloss and really bold signatures like you sometimes see. Because of this, I've priced it accordingly. Make no mistake, it displays well. While doing online searches of recent sales, I found that a near-mint example sold in Heritage's live auction at the National on Aug. 1 for more than $1,000. Though I think that's an atypically high price (auction fever, too many adult beverages?), I can honestly say that I know the example I'm selling is not $600 "less nice" than the one in Heritage. :) Price is $410 delivered within the United States. PayPal is fine. No need to "gift" your payment. A commitment to buy takes precedence over an ongoing negotiation. Feel free to email any questions. If you are interested, please make a reasonable offer.
Thanks. |
One more bump before I use this to start a campfire tonight.
I'm serious when I say if you make a reasonable offer, it's yours. Thanks. |
