Gypsy Queen or Allen/Ginter?
I bought a pack of Allen and Ginter the other day and fell in love. After looking around online saw that Gypsy Queen is very similar and in all honesty, I don't see much of a difference between the two.

AG and GQ
I do not collect AGs but am familiar with them. I am not familiar with GQs. Can you, or maybe someone, post some examples

I don't buy new anymore, but here is my 2 cents:
For design I would take Allen and Ginter. But for checklist I would stay away. I would be very upset to get an auto card of Austin Wierschke, "Texting Champion" or of Guy Ryness "Batting Stance Guy"... I have no clue who these guys are and don't know why anyone really does. I think that would even more disappointing than getting one of their cat cards. At least the cat cards have nice images. For the checklist alone I would stick to Gypsy Queen. |
On the other hand, the card with supposedly a piece of Mark Cubans suit was a pretty cool card to pull.
It's a mostly baseball multi sport/nonsport set which fits in a way since the originals weren't entirely baseball. But Yes, if you want nothing but baseball it's not the set for you. I collect both. Steve B |

I've got almost the entire 2014 Gypsy Queen set of base cards, short prints and minis. Just started with 2014 Allen & Ginter.
I can tell you that the two sets are quite different as GQ doesn't include any of the oddball stuff found in the Ginter set. Both sets do offer a great selection of baseball HOFers, which is fun. |
