OT: Vanderbilt 2014 National Champs!

I have to get plug in for Vandy. Winning the College World Series last night was extra-special for a great Commodore team and coach Tim Corbin! Anchor Down!

Since you beat my Louisville Cardinals, I guess I have to be glad you won......congrats! We knocked you out last year to get to Omaha............

+1

Corbin has been building this program for the last decade. So glad he and the team got to the pinnacle last night.

I'm an LSU fan... so I was pulling for the SEC team. Congratulations to Vandy.

I have been going to the CWS since 1955. The blast by Norwood was one to remember. The scoreboard said 97 mph on the pitch. It went out in a hurry.
The Commodores were great fans and the Vanderbilt theatrical troop between innings was a treat.

I'm still in mourning! :( Norwood had no business swinging at that pitch, as it wasn't even in the strike zone! All I can do is hope that my UVA Cavaliers/Wahoos make it back to the championship series next year.

The VU bench troop is a treat indeed. I was able to attend the Super Regional at Vandy against Stanford and sat in LF where they do their bowling, field goal, and hole in one chip theatrics. Super fun crew.

As for the inside chin high bomb from Norwood, I can't imagine anyone hitting that 97mph offering over the fence. I bet Norwood wouldn't hit that same pitch over if he had another 999 tries. It's just that one... Crazy and historic finish. What a great series... Virginia had the better hitting team overall top to bottom. VU did what it had to do on the pitching and small ball side. Both teams werre worthy of the ring.

Arkansas fan here. If we couldn't win it, glad to see an SEC team win.

As a U.Va alum, I'm with Val. Allowing the 9-run inning in Game #1, largely on walks, was the Wahoos' undoing.
