T3 prices soaring in higher grades?
Just my imagination or nice surge going back to last fall, for PSA 5s and SGC 60s (not many graded above that)? Haven't seen same climb for "4s" and "3s." Also very dependent on pop reports, it seems....

The display factor of the T3 is unsurpassed except for some advertising pieces . IMHO that drives the cost .

As soon as l sell my set, they'll take off in the lower grades

High grade (5+) T3s are quite scarce and have commanded strong prices for a while. Personally I try to get the high grade appeal but in lower grades....This is in a 3 holder and a 4 would almost double, if not double, in price...I will take the lower grade almost every time, but to each their own.

Ted fantastic Cobb. I know how long you've been at it w/ this set.
I admire your dedication & wish I still had my set. |
Thanks for the kind words Jay! It has been quite a while, but alas time to move on and finish my 52 topps set. I do have a Peaches Graham in PSA 5 I might switch out with a lower grade one seeing as the psa 4+ have been skyrocketing. It is just finding another graded Graham stopping me!

Ted the Graham is one of my favorite T3's w/ a great pose by the wooden fence and the only Boston Rustler in the set.
Getting back to the original post on high graded T3's, here's a beauty I had for a very short period. http://www.qualitycards.com/pictures/31381262.jpg |
I have a few nice t206s myself, and only three T3s, but it has always struck me as odd the overwhelmingly obsession with the former when the latter have just as nice or nicer images--and in very large size for appreciation or even display. I know some say most people don't LIKE oversized card but I still don't get it.

And w/ the T3's you get a full version as opposed a cropped up version. Here's a similar (not identical) version of Bill Burns http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTE3WDU0Ng...TTuTs/$_57.JPG http://www.qualitycards.com/pictures/90546628.jpg |
Here's a better example of Mordecai Brown

Bill Burns image is so nasty it's better smaller in this case...

First of all, if I ever win the Lotto, I'm putting together a T-3 set :) This standard-sized reprint set just isn't enough, LOL.
Secondly, what is the single highest-graded example of a T-3? |

So one here & one there, they can add up to a nice collection. When I was collecting the set a few years ago, PSA had graded 2 PSA-8's, & both were Ty Cobb I've seen them both, 1 in person at a National at PSA's booth & they were awesome. Not sure if any other 8's have joined the Cobb party recently. |
That sounds a bit like "a million here, a million there and you're suddenly talking about good money."

Not the most pricey but my favorite common pose.
