A story I wish I could un-hear

A guy at my church just told me a story about how his eccentric collector grandpa gave him a Babe Ruth card back in '67. Gramps told him is was his first card and was valuable. Unfortunately my friend was 8 at the time and promptly used it in his bike spokes.

I sent him a link to the VCP line up of Ruth cards and he looked and said it was the Baltimore.

I tend to be overly trusting of people; knowing that about myself I am going to choose to believe he has his story wrong.

George, I'm with you.

Seems far fetched.

Yeah, it does seem far fetched. But his description of his grandpa, and what I can imagine of my friend as an eight year old, makes it easier for me to think it was definitely possible.
