1968 Topps Ryan Double Exposure?

I know there is someone out there who can explain how this occurs. Is it common?

They use four colors, cyan (Blue) magenta (pink) yellow and black. sometimes others if they want a certain look.

On the Ryan, blue is printed a bit to the right. So you see two images.

It's fairly common, but not usually as far off as that. The farther off one color is the more unusual. Not necessarily more valuable, some of us will pay a bit over the price of a normal card, some won't want it at all.

I agree with Steve that at any point in time you can find these in virtually any year for older cards under a "variation " search. But this one is a little more pronounced than most and involves a top star.

Thanks everyone for your help with this. I found this card fascinating. I feel comfortable with the $50 I paid for it.

As far as what I collect, there's no real straight answer to that. The easy things to explain are Auburn football ticket stubs and Auburn football players. Really, I collect anything that strikes my fancy. This oddity falls into that category, and I am currently working on a '34 Goudey set.

Overall, I buy and sell a lot of cards and I pull back things I find interesting to keep for myself.
