Are you enrolled in the eBay Bucks program? If so, you should get them.

It's only good on certain items (cards count), but I was disappointed this morning when I went to puchase some gold bullion and found out that it didn't apply to that. I didn't complete the transaction as that was the only reason I was going to buy it right. I guess I'll just wait

ullmandds 05-06-2014 09:26 AM

Too bad they're not good on car purchases!!!

vintagetoppsguy 08-05-2014 07:29 AM

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would bump an old one. Today and tomorrow only, 4X eBay Bucks on qualifying purchases of $150 or more.

David- you must be on some top secret ebay list because I'm in the ebay bucks program and have never received any notification about 4x ebay bucks

clydepepper 08-05-2014 02:16 PM

I bought some cards this morning (8/5) but only got the normal 2%

I am a Ebucks participator, but have not received any such notice, nor is there any such notice on the site.

- so I won't adjust my purchase schedule just based on information one person has received...nothing personal.

Bob,

I assumed they sent out the same offer to all members in the eBay Bucks program, but then I read this in the fine print of the email:

Who's eligible?
Only invited, registered eBay Bucks participants who receive the promotional offer from eBay in My Messages are eligible. Sorry, no forwarding—the offer is not transferable.

Weird they would offer it to some and not all.

David

Edited to add screen shot from email.

bobbyw8469 08-05-2014 02:17 PM

I did not get invited. Either account.

thecatspajamas 08-05-2014 02:19 PM

tbob, I got the same notice this afternoon. You might want to check your communication preferences in your ebay account settings to be sure you haven't opted out if you' re concerned you might miss out.

Luke 08-05-2014 02:28 PM

I didn't get the email either, but if you go click on any item above $150, it tells you how much ebay bucks you will receive if you buy the item. It's 8% for the next 34 hours.

Just curious, Why do you have multiple ebay accounts?

yanksfan09 08-05-2014 03:45 PM

i usually get all these email offers. However I didn't get this one and when I look at cards over 150 I'm not getting any extra bucks.....

Not happy ebay!

swarmee 08-05-2014 05:33 PM

Well,

They run different specials for different sellers. When I started actually selling some stuff (30-50 items), they sent me an email I chuckled at: LIST 10,000 ITEMS FREE FOR THE NEXT 4 DAYS! I can't physically list that much stuff. It takes about 10-20 minutes for me to make each listing so that I describe my items properly to make the most money off of them.

I didn't realize that they had different specials for buyers, but it doesn't surprise me. Those of you that got it might have spent $10K in the last year, I don't know.

I have been on Ebay for years. Many years. All the old Ebay books recommended that you have your buying account separate from your selling account. That was along time ago - when Ebay was fun. Ebay isn't fun anymore.

Gotta love those Ebay bucks. Free cards every quarter! Diidnt know it so exclusive dont I feel special.

swarmee 08-05-2014 07:58 PM

Set your preferences?

If you didn't receive this email, maybe you don't have your preferences set to get emailed these offers. (I didn't get it either, but I'm not a big spender.)

1) Go to MyEBay account tab.
2) Click Communication Preferences
3) Scroll down to Promotions and Surveys
4) Check the appropriate boxes

Maybe we'll get them in the future.

I am such a sucker for these quadruple Ebay Buck days. I got the email yesterday, and even though i had shot my load financially recently, i started looking around, and today i went ahead and bought something that qualified. Ebay certainly knows what they are doing with this program!! It works on me anyway!!!

swarmee 08-06-2014 08:36 PM

I did spend over $150 on an item yesterday, but only received the standard 2% bucks rate.

I received the offer but didn't even spend $1,000 0n Ebay in the last year and only once for something that would have qualified for the extra bucks.

Did you get the email? It worked for me.

glchen 08-07-2014 09:23 AM

I think you need to be invited to these promo offers for ebay bucks. Not everyone receives them. I'm registered for ebay bucks, and I think I had nearly $200 in ebay bucks in the last quarter. However, I did not receive this recent promotion either.

Back again (for those who are "invited"):

Gary, I have noticed that they don't send them to members who currently buy alot. They mainly send them to people to "promote" purchases. Kinda like how Time Warner only gives out the best deals for new members and screws over long standing customers.

eBay Bucks (rebate of X% of hammer) seems to be eBay's equivalent of auction house consignment deals (101%, 102%, ... 1XX% of hammer).

Exhibitman 08-11-2014 11:10 AM

i am registered but wasn't invited either.

swarmee 08-14-2014 03:58 PM

Got an email today

$30 eBay bucks back on a purchase of $150 or more (single transaction). So I'm starting to get some of these specials.

dabigyankeeman 08-18-2014 03:29 PM

Is there any way to tell if one of these days is coming up? I have a few bucks to spend right now, but would love to take advantage of the quadruple Ebay Bucks again.

They don't tell anyone until the day before, often towards the end of the day before. Otherwise, you and everyone else would just wait for their big purchases ;)

itjclarke 08-27-2014 01:22 AM

Finally!

I finally got one of these!! After reading this thread, I went into my profile and enabled the preferences to include receiving emailed offers. I think it was as simple as that. 4x adds up quick, and it definitely worked as I made a few purchases I probably wouldn't have otherwise.
