Opinions requested, Mantle, Mays, DiMaggio
 

Hey guys, I have a buddy selling off part of his collection and he asked me to go through some items and give my opinion on what I though was good and bad. This is around 30 years of auction material to go through and its been hit and miss. I gave him some lukewarm opinions on some, and wanted to hit up the more experienced crowd here. As always, much appreciated.

The bat is bad I agree, had some hope for the ball, and I was lost on the last one... I am no good with Mays and DiMaggio

I spent 6 hours looking over his stuff, its a shame how much this guy has spent over the years and the amount of bad items he had. Appreciate the opinions and the smack to the head :)

Brandon: I'm guessing he got all of these items at a bargain price and just couldn't resist. I've seen this over and over at locals auctions where people think they are getting a deal; plus they are lured into a false sense of security by the presence of some fly-by-night "letter of authenticity". Maybe it's greed, maybe it's ignorance, or a combination of both. I think of all this garbage hanging on peoples walls and it just kind of makes me sick.
