Any chance this is a real Ruth?
|
nope...no chance its real!
|
Fake as a 3 dollar bill....
|
They had prohibition during that time. Fake
|
This card has been discussed before
|
I also call into question where the seller states one was sent into a grading company and they said they "couldn't" grade it becasue they had never seen one before???
Would that even happen? I would think that grading companies, if they had never saw one, would do there research and then grade it, wouldnt they? |

It looks like the seller has a Quaker Oats Babe Ruth card currently for sale that was graded by "AAA" grading company.

If you pay a grading company $10 to grade your card, how much research do you think they are going to do?
|
I hear "AAA" is the best.

When its not actually old, oven-baked is the next best bet!
From the scan, which is not the best, it does seem to have that artificially aged, oven-baked look.

I believe it is a fake as well, but where on the card does it say free "alcoholic" drink? |

I figured it out. It's either for a speak-easy or it's for a fountain drink. Not! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
It's funny. If you Google Charlie's Bar and Grill Starr Street, the first item that came up on the list, at least for me, was a card that sold on eBay in 2008. It is on the Worthpoint site and the description from that sale is pretty much word for word what this seller used for his card six years later.

Recently made Frankenstein that I would have had removed but ebay fired me after 6 years of loyal service policing the baseball card category.
I guess I was too expensive, I worked for free! |
If you were pointing out too many fakes and they were getting pulled then, YES, you WERE too expensive for eBay. You were costing them FEES!!!!!!
