eBay seller warning.

I had posted this in the postwar forum as well but wanted to pass it along here in case he ever tries to sell any prewar items as well.

Just wanted to warn others about a seller biged049. He is the one that I thought I had bought a great Ryan for my collection and even posted in the pick-up thread. When the card came it was not the one pictured but an inkjet copy. I had politely asked for a refund and I would return the card (no harm no foul) but now he doesn't want to refund me since he stated it was an ungraded card.

I told him that I buy ungraded cards all the time but that doesn't mean it can be an ungraded fake. Anyway long story short I'm working with eBay to get a refund but just wanted to let people know to keep a look out in case he tries it again to another potential buyer. Just trying to save someone else the headache that I'm currently going through.

Hope this helps a little

Thanks for the heads up

Someone needs to go and whack his pee-pee.

pencil1974 04-10-2014 12:05 PM

Trust me I'm trying to take the high road here on this but being from Chicago I have "friends" that I had thought about calling in a favor for. Whacking his pee-pee would be one of the more gentler things they would do. Sometimes its good to have friends in low places until your wife finds out about them and then they are no longer allowed over for beers.

Why not neg him?

pencil1974 04-10-2014 08:09 PM

I should. I was just trying not to rock the boat too much as I try to get my money back though eBay but I guess it really doesn't matter if they will give it back to me via the buyer protection thing they have.

Where's a bailiff when you need one?

the 'stache 04-11-2014 06:15 AM

Oh, he's a Michigan fan, too. Now I really don't like him (just kidding, of course, Wolverine fans! :D)

Definitely leave negative feedback, Brad. Other buyers need to know what a lowlife this guy is, and Ebay won't remove that from his profile.

As far as baliffs go, I have a suggestion. I think Richard Moll should be able to find the Ryan card you paid for!

If you paid by paypal put in a claim not as described and certainly not pictured.

pencil1974 04-11-2014 07:17 AM

I put a claim in with eBay through the buyer protection. I talked to them on the phone, I have to wait 4 days and then eBay will pay me and they will go after the money from him. I had forgot to ask if I need to return the card or keep it. If I don't have to give it back that sucker is getting lit on fire.

I know the big M on his hat gives me chills being born and raised just outside of Columbus, OH. I should have known better. lol.

Really??

What I have to say too that I find funny is that the last person to leave feedback is an inkjet cartridge dealer.... go figure

Pleas leave accurate (negative) feedback once you receive your refund.

Implication of Original Owner

If I read the ad text correctly doesn't it say original owner? Wouldn't that imply he pulled it from a pack in 1968?

He is the original owner of the inkjet copy.

pencil1974 04-15-2014 04:14 PM

Thats what he basically told me when I inquired about the card that he started collecting in 1968 and these were from that collection. So I would assume it was from the original pack as well. The only original pack it came from sadly was the high gloss paper stock at Office Depot.

And yes once I get my refund I'm going to slam a negative feedback on him.

I remember a case on Judge Judy where someone bought 2 cell phones for cell phone type money on ebay.....and got 2 inkjet pictures of cell phones for their purchase.. And the seller tried to defend their actions in court. It was funny to say the least....Judge Judy went off on the scammers in a big way. All America should have to live by Judge Judy rules.....it would be a much better and different place.

pencil1974 04-16-2014 07:33 AM

Yes it would and the outcome would be a lot faster for sure too. I now have to send the card back and 3 days after the card is received I get my refund if it's in the same condition that it was sent to me (which of course it is). My worry is the guy just rips the card in half and says its not in the same condition, what keeps that from happening?

ctownboy 04-16-2014 08:53 AM

In the past, I think others in this situation have gone to the Post Office and shown the card or item to the Manager or Supervisor and then packaged the card or item and mailed it to the seller/scam artist. That way, if the seller does something to the item then there was a witness at the Post Office that can back up your version of the story.

You could record a short video of you putting the card in the box and then mailing it.

pencil1974 04-16-2014 01:39 PM

I took photos versus a video but the same idea. I'm hoping the guy in not a douche and doesn't do something like that but that being said he was already a douche for selling a fake card and not wanting to take it back.

pencil1974 04-21-2014 05:51 PM

Ordeal with douchebag finally done!

Finally got my refund today but wanted to mention that eBay made me send the card back to the seller before they would give the refund. So just watch out. I left negative feedback so hopefully that will help.
