T205 artwork exclusive to the T205 set...now with exciting scans!
A while back I started a thread concerning T205 artwork not seen in the T205 set...
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...ghlight=stamps which detailed the three players with T205 style artwork only seen in T205 associated sets T202 and T330 Piedmont Art Stamps. This is a similiar thread involving T205 artwork, but this involves the T205 cards that have artwork only seen in the T205 set. I have determined that there are 56 subjects in the T205 that do not exist elsewhere (as seen on the end panels of T202 Triplefolders or in the T330 Piedmont Art Stamps set). Twelve of these cards automatically come to my mind: the minor league subset. But many others seem so familiar it comes as a surprise that the artwork is not featured in the other sets. So if you want a taste of their art you are stuck with picking up a gold bordered card. Below is a list of these cards (ML indicates Minor League card): Abbaticchio Adkins - ML Bailey Batch - ML Bell Blackburne Bransfield Cady - ML J.Collins - ML Corridon Criger Dickson Donohue Dougherty Duffy Dunn - ML Dygert Ewing Ferguson Flynn Frick - ML Gardner Hanford - ML Harmon (both ears) Hartsel Hemphill Hoffman Jacklitsch T.Jones Joss Karger Killian Kleinow Kroh Lang Lee - ML Leever Livingston Lush Maddox McAllister - ML McElveen Merritt - ML Nee - ML Olmstead Pfeister Phelan - ML Phelps Schlei Schmidt Sharpe Simmons Smith Stone K.White Wiltse (both ears) In addition there are another nine T205 cards whose artwork is not seen in the T202 set, but were deemed worthy enough in 1914 to be included in the T330 Piedmont set issued that year. I have included them in a separate list below, as the T330's are rarely seen and the opportunities to pick them up are fairly narrow, so in a sense they are 'honorary' members of the exclusive artwork list as detailed above. They are: Beck Downey Fisher Goode Herzog Parent Schaefer Scott Wilhem Brian (in a list of his own) |

I thought I would provide a representative T205 scan so this thread would no longer be a blind date, with a scan of lonely T202 end panels and a companionless T330 Piedmont art stamp just to show, you know, how it all goes.
