I agree I don't think that is Lou.

1) I thought most baseball notebooks like this were made earlier than the 1920's.

2) If you zoom in on the picture, "Lou Gehrig" is on a rectangular piece of paper that was probably added on later.

I may be mis-remembering, but isn't that the pose of Gehrig from his Rogers Peet card?

Yes, same image as Rogers Peet card.

I think it's Gehrig all right--just a very unusual angle w/ facial strain. How can a news organization mis-label a Gehrig?

+1. At first I thought no way is it Gehrig....but then it started to look like him but from a weird angle.
