April Pickups
'Cause it's midnight somewhere.
This card was a whale for me, in that I searched longer for one of these bad boys than any other card. Deep thanks to a couple board members for helping track this down. When guys who can pretty much locate any card out there have trouble turning up a card, you know it's tough. http://www.collectorfocus.com/images...ss-joe-jackson |
Bad A$$ card. Congrats!!!

Sweet Joe Jax Matt.
This one's been on my want list for a while (IMO the best looking Cy).. and I went after this one on Goodwin. Tried to wait up for it, but that auction went loooooong. Happy to see I had it in AM, and for an increment less than my max bid. |
That's a way to kick off April pickups with those two monsters

Great card. |
I'm not sure if this is April Fool's or you guys are just adding some phenomenal cards. I'm guessing it's the latter. Great cards!

Card was a tough one to track down with nice appeal, and perfect centering. Board member helped me find this one.

Geez, it's like the '27 Yanks out of the gates here for the month! Incredible!
I hope my Mack can keep up with the Joneses (and Jacksons) here.... |

Also, it has a Ty Cobb back.

That is one of, if not "the," best looking Young cards.
And there are never really any words for a Ruth RC. That's a watershed moment for a collection. As the true RC of the game's biggest name, it should only keep growing in stature and value as it approaches its 100th BIRTHDAY! WAIT, Tony, the centering on that card is INSANE. I such a tremendous fan of that exact card. Great eye. |

Apparently Grandpa sold Garter belts back in the day and kept a lot of his cards. Always fun to find this in his attic. Pretty cool how SGC already graded it

Thanks, brutha. Once you put a target on the Shoeless CJ, it starts growing in your mind-- you start perusing VCP, realizing how tough it is to find a nice affordable one, and then the hunt is on. Becomes very satisfying when you reel it in. It's a card that doesn't give itself up easy, and like a great woman it is thus one you keep for good! |

Can you post a back scan? I have never seen the card back. |
I can vouch for my Standard Biscuit Joe Jackson, it's not an April Fools prank, although it may have appeared that way with some of the great pickups so far.
I made the deal through a private transaction, hopefully Joe T can chime in, validate my claim. Great cards so far, the Ruth RC, and the CJ Joe Jax are awesome. Tough to find in lower grades, with nice eye appeal. Let's keep them coming!! Tony |

I know some of you think this is the ugliest HOF T206 in the set, but I think you're crazy. Thanks again Cory

Here are a few highlights from a lot of T206 commons I picked up from a board member. Thank you for everyone who sent me a PM. I am slowly but surely tackling the monster.

That Cy Young is a real beauty. Nice pickup.

I picked this card up today. I have no idea what it's worth, but I will probably put it in the b/s/t section once I figure out a price.
