Weekend Pickups - eBay

Took 4 last minute auctions today, 2 of them within seconds of each other - I used 2 laptops at the same time to do it. All T205, and Got my first short-print.

My apologies if I bumped any of you...well, kinda :)

Picked up two high grade T212 Obaks Sunday night. Bid on 5 cards, won 2 but they were both PSA 7s.

I'm so sorry if I snatched these away from someone. :D

is this topic really necessary...in addition to the monthly pickup thread?

Centauri 03-31-2014 09:53 AM

Well, I hadn't seen the march one. Is it possible to delete a thread?

There is a March pick up thread that will end today. Don't worry about this thread but in the future it's best to put ordinary pickups in the monthly pick up thread. If it is something unusual, or you just want a new thread, it can be it's own thread...There really aren't written rules about this. Just use your best judgement.....happy collecting!!

I am always surprised by the vibrant appearance of Obak cards.

Interesting flip on the Jensen card. Is that a new qualifier from PSA (for STAMPED)? I thought I've always seen them use the MK qualifier if the card were stamped.

I see PSA uses "STAMP REDEMPTION" a lot in cases where cards were redeemed for a prize. I've also seen PSA use the MK qualifier in these same cases but less often. Were Obaks redeemable because there are many examples of the "STAMPED" indicator on the label.

Here's a hockey example:

My understanding (I think it was SB1 who informed me) is that because OBAKs almost always came with these stamps, they never get the 'MK' designation.

Good to see this new designator, but hopefully it's handled consistently.
