Negro League All Star Pinback help
 

I came across this pin in a antique store. I almost bought it but at $315.00 I thought it would be prudent to ask for assistance from others who are much more educated than I on these. Do you think it is real and if so what would likely be the year of production and value. Thanks in advance!

I believe that this pinback was likely produced in the early-mid 1940's, FWIW.

Does anyone know when this game was held? I've never come across a black all-star team playing the Yankees - Landis banned full MLB teams from competing against black teams after they lost a few games in the 1920's. After that when whites played black teams they had to be billed as "all-star" teams and not the Yankees or Cardinals or whatever. I would be very surprised if this game took place (and would love to see a box score!) or if this pin was real.
