Looks like some home made thing.
Whatever it is, it was not signed by Ty Cobb.
Looks like a question. |
I have seen some letters that Ty signed that way, w just " Ty" and that different style. Im interested to hear what others think of this piece.
Ty
I too have seen several letters signed this way... Ty also penned a variant of the typical mushroom cap "T" which resembled a "2" as this one does...
I think its Ty, but the "As Ever" saluation spooks me... its elegance and intimacy remind of a closing a writer would choose (if you know what I mean) |
It's Topps, why expect something good?
This is an atrocity.
LoL
That is not a Topps-produced cut autograph, but a homemade cut out. I think it is a genuine "Ty," but I think the card is horribly made.
My apologies to Topps.
At least this piece of junk cannot be blamed on Topps, though many, many other pieces of junk can. |
This is just weird. Brent, where is the pic from?

and only $2999,,, gee whiz, gimme 2.
though I think $29.99 is more like it. |
It is sad that someone chopped up a Cobb. I hope they lose money on the deal.
The "Ty" cut I can understand if that was the complete signature on the letter or whatever was destroyed to create it. But "Cobb?" Does that mean there will be another "Ty" cut in some future Gypsy Queen issue? I just hope the original auto was damaged with "Cobb" being salvaged instead of a full auto being split in hopes of getting a marketable twofer. Bad precedent if that was the case.
