Sorry for the bother, but another Mantle opinion??
Here is an early Mickey Mantle photo from the archives of the Miami Herald. I have four different photos of him fishing, and each one has "Mickey Mantle" written on the back. I bought these from the John Rogers group at the National convention a couple of years ago.
I know little about autographs, except that Mantle's was frequently forged. I also know that his early signature was different from his later one. Could this be authenic, or was it just his name written on the back by an employee of the newspaper or someone else? [URL=http://s260.photobucket.com/ [URL=http://s260.photobucket.com/user |
I wish some of you would please learn how to post photographs.
If you want help, please don't make it difficult for us to find your photographs. |
Sorry. I thought I knew how to do this. I've done it in the past several times. I had the photos on photobucket, but I can't seem to get them up here.

Finally, got 'em.

Somebody just wrote his name on the back.

Definitely not the Mick's signature.

Thanks for the comments. When I bought these, they were not sold as being Mantle autographs. The Rogers group had just bought the Miami Herald archives, and they had literally thousands of photos. Since some of the photos were apparently taken by staff photographers, I just wondered about the signatures since they look a little like a blend between Mantle's early signature and his later one. Thanks again.
