rare back multiplier

What is the largest multiplier premium you've ever paid for a card with a rare back? It's 38x for me, but that was very unusual compared to my typical collecting. My second highest was about 5x.

My largest multiplier was approximately 355x for a Merkle throwing graded Authentic (worth about $30) but with a Pirates back. :o

Is it agreed on which set the pirates are from?

It can be a bit confusing because the T215 Pirates share their numeric designation with the T215 Red Cross set. And of course they both feature images from the original T206 set.
But the Pirates are indeed a separate set.

On a related note, Leon mentioned a couple weeks ago that REA released just the right number of Pirates in last year's auction (5) to maximize the price we would pay for them. I suppose that if Richard Masson (sp ) ever sells off his set of 96 Pirate cards, the value of these cards will drop quite a bit. Maybe somewhere between an Uzit and a Drum?

Even if that set was broken up I don't see the prices dropping much on T215 cards. Just my 2 cents.

We both have a vested interest, so I hope that you're right. :D

i think if all 96 were auctioned off at once...separately...there'd be a substantial variance amongst the sale prices...some selling at relative bargains...others selling very high to those trying to complete back runs.
