Brooks Robinson - Minor League Photograph?
 

With all of the photo threads I have yet to see a Brooks Robinson minor league or Cuban league photo. Does anyone have one or are they just non-existent?

Also, I have yet to see a rookie era photo of Brooks as well posted, so any of those would be fine too. There has to be early pictures of Brooksie out there "somewhere"...

There are some photos of Brooks when he played briefly here in Vancouver for the Mounties. I'll try and see if I have some scans


A google search shows the most common image I've seen, plus the common team photo

Brooks is shown as a Mountie on the 1959 Team Picture, but it is only a small inset photo, top left.

Thanks for posting the two photos of Brooks on the Mounties. All of the ones I've seen in the past, at least as far as I know, have been reprints of pictures. I've also seen a copy of a snap shot where he was with the White Roses and another a copy of maybe a newspaper article, when he played for the Cienfuegos.

I wonder where all of the photo's, whether it's a team or individual photos, when he was in the minors?

I have a 1956 San Antonio Missions Brooks Robinson game-worn cap. More than anything, I would love a photo with him in that!

Another shot of him with the Mounties is the only image I have other than somewhere around here I have a photo of him as a kid (like 3-4 years old?) with a bat, but can't seem to lay hands on it at the moment.

Edited: Whoops! Nevermind. As pointed out by Jeff below, this is LaRussa, not Robinson. I grabbed the wrong image, and as it turns out, the one I have is the same as shown above. Now I'll really have to find that kiddie photo of Brooks to redeem myself :o

I "think" I saw that picture you were talking about of him as a child. I believe it was a wire photo used for when he retired, am I correct?

I did find the image of the kid Brooks photo that was originally posted online though. I'll update it with a proper scan if/when I locate the hard copy. As usual, my memory is horrible and he's holding a ball, not a bat:

I have seen the picture I believe you are referring, but never a hard copy. Was hoping with all the minor league teams and games there would be more photos of Brooksie, or at least team photos, out there. I'm sure there are somewhere.

Lance... Thanks for searching and posting the update on the child photo. Yeah, not a very good one, but at least he's holding a ball. If you ever want to move it please keep me in mind.

The player sitting next to Brooksie is Ed Mierkowicz.

The Cap in the photo is a slightly different style than the one Brooks is holding. Do you know what year(s) that style was worn?

I believe in the Brooks photo the hat is from '57 if I'm not mistaken. He played, at least part time, on the Missions team in '56 and '57.
