Please Help ID This Collins
Bought this Eddie Collins for $26.
I am a lover of 1919 Chicago Black Sox (& Reds, anything from the 1919 World Series). I know it is not in great shape, but for the price, I had to have it. However, i have no idea on what it is. Please ID. I THINK it is a W575-1 but not sure, and also need to know what back stamp that is. Thanks guys.... <a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/user/TopekaPalms/media/CollinsFront_zps846516c2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb212/TopekaPalms/CollinsFront_zps846516c2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CollinsFront_zps846516c2.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/user/TopekaPalms/media/Collinsback_zpsee3cb079.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb212/TopekaPalms/Collinsback_zpsee3cb079.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Collinsback_zpsee3cb079.jpg"/></a> |

So it IS a Keating!!!
OMG, I am SO HAPPY!! Didn't a lot of them have "hole punches" in them? Does this carry any more value seeing as it doesnt have a hole punch? OK, so now please answer me this. Is there any use in getting it graded with.... 1) The condition is not good. 2) I think from other W575-1, they are stip cards and will always render an "Authentic". So if I KNOW what grade it will come back as, what would be the advantage of grading it be, if any. And thanks again SO much. |
