** SOLD ** (4) Negro Leaguers Signed Index Cards from Dr. John Davis Jr Collection
 

Offered are four Negro League players signed index cards from the collection of optometrist and famed autograph collector Dr. John Davis Jr. Links below are to two articles about Davis and a Goldin Auctions PSA/DNA authenticated card with the same Davis collection stamp. Davis, who died in 2002, obtained autographs in person (he carried personalized index cards with him) and through the mail. His Supreme Court autograph collection is owned by and publicly displayed at the Washburn University Law School. The autographs offered here are John 'Jimmie' Crutchfield (teammate of Satchel Paige), Jim Lefty La Marque (1942-50 KC Monarchs), Alfred Slick Surratt (1948- KC Monarchs) and Dewitt Woody Smallwood (Indianapolis Clowns, New York Black Yankees). The cards are clean with pencil notes on back. The signatures are sharp and clean.
