I had an argument with this guys supposed mom last week, on a phone call. :)

They're 38 and 40 and you were talking to their mom?
Glad they seem to have been caught.

She said she was his mom and I didn't believe one thing she said. It was weird. But when I look in the registration database I find Scott Norris tried to get registered here no less than 3x, same IP and all. I am in the process of contacting the US Asst. Attorney handling the case to see if there is any help I can provide.

You have to marvel at the gall.

Great job Leon screening these people out.

It looks like some people on eBay weren't so lucky since according to the article this had been going on from 2006-2012. What a shame.

Seems they are getting what they deserve....here are a few attempts ya'll might even remember...

Good to see a little justice in this crazy hobby.

Not delivering a product does really help the margins, though.

Once they retain a lawyer, it will be a misunderstanding or someone else's fault. :D

However, back to these scammers. According to the previous thread it looks like I got a call from the guy's "dad", though it now sounds like it could have been his brother? I left a voice mail message for the Secret Service agent in charge of that investigation to offer any help I can. I hope justice is fair but harsh for them. I don't think, generally speaking, people get busted the very first time they commit a crime. And I know I had some hassles with these guys (supposing the bros. were in on everything together) so am not sympathetic.

So they currently have federal charges being brought upon them (the article is from this month), the secret service is investigating them as we speak, yet they STILL are trying to get on here to pull more scams learn about the hobby. Wow.

I got a message today on Ebay from *shoeboxlegends* (0) asking me the size of the Honus Wagner on this Trader Speaks. They asked about another one too.

There are members of this board who have been convicted of similar scams...

I'm glad this guy finally got what he had coming to him. Now he will find out what it feels like to be raped.

Completely off topic, but I enjoyed the random Babe Ruth stamp and caption that has nothing to do with the article.

Shelly was convicted a long time ago. He has aided authorities for many years since then in order to help the hobby. Are there others?

Of course I am living on a second chance from 25ish years ago so my comment was in support of Shelly....just in case anyone didn't take it that way.

I'm here...I was just stating a fact; not casting judgment. Everyone makes mistakes. Perhaps in a few years the Norris brothers will become reformed scammers and be able to help the community...

Be prepared to pack your bags Leon. I got to enjoy an all expense paid overnight trip to Pittsburgh one winter under similar conditions. Feds flew me back there to help convict an ebay scammer on mail fraud charges. The guy proceeded to spend eight years in federal prison and during that time used the prison library to learn how to file literally thousands of lawsuits, one of which was against yours truly as well as all the other witnesses, as well as Obama, every corrections officer he came in contact with, the US congress, the prison food suppliers, multiple lawyers and federal prosecutors and.....on and on.
