Best 2014 set for stats, roster coverage
As an old guy, I'm having a tough time keeping track of who's who these days - the Sporting News is great, but not perfect. As a kid, I did it with the stats on the back of baseball cards - sorted by team, updating my stacks when trades were made.
Looking to go back to my childhood strategy, what is the best set for covering as many players as possible, with a nice design and great stats, for 2014? I don't normally post in this sub-forum, so my apologies if that seems like a dumb question - I just don't follow modern cards, but looking to pick up a complete 2014 set. |
well if you do the basic topps series 1 out now, series 2 out around june, and update out around september, it covers the most players and lists almost if not all individual year with stats. each series has 331 cards. you can get packs at hobby or retail stores. the chance for hits is slim hobby boxes only guarantee 1 hit and jumbo is 3. they do have a bunch of inserts too which personally drive me nuts. but it is the cheapest set to try and build.
p.s. if you wanna build some newer sets you can check out my unfinished sets in the 1980-present B/S/T forum |
Thanks Jesse.
