1992 Cricket sets Sachin Tendulkar rookie
 

I figured I would start a new thread for these. Both sets are now loaded to the Beckett database. I've only seen the prosport card once. This set is from India and made up of 16 cards. I only know of 7 of them. They were issued in packs and the backs look like pro set football cards. The 1992 Total set was issued in South Africa. It is a 40 card set also issued in packs. There was also an album issued for the set. These cards are rare but I have seen them for sale unlike the ProSport set. Here are some scans of the tendulkar cards along with a link to the checklist

These cards are now recognized by psa. I had crossed them over. Just got them back today. These cards are really hard to find. If cricket cards ever become collectable.. These will prob be some of my most valuable.

Hello Sir,
So far I also believed that Sachin Tendulkar cards from 1992 are considered his rookie card even though he played his first match in 1989 against Pakistan. Recently came across his original rookie card from 1989. Saw one got sold on Ebay few months ago. I am sharing the pictures.

Set of trading cards of Indian cricketer's tour to Pakistan in 1989. Limited number of sets were created and distributed and donated to Orphanage homes along with clothes and books by campa cola in Mumbai, India to promote the cricket game.

• Few sets created and distributed for free by Courtesy of Charanjit Singh, Industrialist and owner of Pure Drinks Group to promote cricket among kids of orphanage houses. No sales or income was created by distribution of the sets. Information and a set of cards was received as a gift while visiting one of the orphanage house in Mumbai, India.
