T206s in NYC/Long Island/Brooklyn

We've had a similar thread, but I was wondering if there are any card shops or antique stores that have t206 cards for sale! Thank you very much.

Hi Waz,

For T206 here on LI, the few card/collectible shops have exorbitant prices. You would do better at ebay and auction houses., but more so with private transactions. Antique stores, if they have any, which is rare, it's the same thing. Outside of T206 it's better to pound the pavement and look for obscure cabinets and postcards, etc., but even that is picked pretty clean:(

Nothing in Manhattan that I've seen. Not sure about the outer boroughs.

True true! But just for the experience, I want to go to shops anyways.

Added Brooklyn to the list.

I used to be a regular at Baseball Card Collectors Exchange in Hicksville. Rob had some good stuff including the Gretzky Honus lol. Unfortunately, he closed up shop years ago :(

Yeah, it's a Wasteland out here unless you like Beanie Babies and Yu-Gi-Oh!Ask for "old paper" and you get yesterday's edition of Newsday.

Me too! Great place, Bob (and Marty in the early days) had lots of droolworthy items. The 53 Topps uncut find, the Gretzky Wagner, all sorts of goodies went through there. Bob and his wife moved to Arizona some time in the 1990's and are both now deceased unfortunately.

Yes, that's the place I was referring to. He's got pre war -- I know because I sold him some -- but you have to catch the owner when he's in the shop. Otherwise, he keeps it in his car trunk, or at home. There is another place within a minute drive from there. He displays a lot of Perez Steele and that ilk on the walls. Both show some decent post war stuff within their counter display. You'd have to ask about the pre war, but it's still a rip.

Yeah I was sad when he closed his shop and moved. Now, I am sadder to know that he passed away. I never met his wife, but I remember his mom used to watch the store occasionally. I would spend hours in his shop talking cards. Good guy certainly 1 of my favorite people I ever met in the hobby.
