Jackie Robinson Auto (JSA auth) & Joe DiMaggio Signed Ball

1 Attachment(s)
Very nice bold, crisp, clean Jackie Robinson auto in blue ink. JSA authenticated and was told by them it's an earlier version of it!! It's on the blank first page of his first edition biography "My Own Story". Unfortunately, book has been through a fire or something, but fortunately, none of the inside pages were hurt/discolored, especially the signature I noticed Again, very nice, my plans were to actually remove the page from the book and frame it with a nice early original photo or something cool with an image of him. Also thought of keeping it in the book and maybe doing a shadow book display with it.

Also, I have an unauthenticated Joe DiMaggio, single signed ball. Got this back when I was a kid, before PSA/JSA and really much need for it. When it was given to me was told he got it signed in person at a show somewhere he meet DiMaggio in person. Mantle not for sale!! Sorry

Asking $800 for the Robinson & $300 for the Joe D, will do a would do $1000 on the pair. First to PM me gets them, think these are fair reasonable numbers based on info and offers. Also have many early gloves, bats, a nice mask available out of my collection, message me and I'll send pics and prices.

AGAIN, Mantle is not included or for sale, unless you want to make a real serious offerlol, thanks!!

Again Mantle ball I'm holding on to for now unless real good offer!!

Can you please post a photo of the "Mantle."

Doesn't look good.

As a matter of fact, it isn't authentic. Sorry.

estaples 12-08-2013 09:58 AM

The Mantle ball is pictured next to the DiMaggio. The Mantle ball is most definitely authentic for certain, but also not really for sale, my parents got me that one when I was a kid, and actually gave it to me on my bday the 15th and Mantle unfortunately passed away the very next day, the 16th, if I remember right.

The Joe D I've never bothered to have authenticated, got it in the late 80's from a guy that was a major league scout and manager for the Brooklyn dodgers. I grew up near him, and he gave me several autos that he had when he was getting up later in his years, couple years before he past away. DiMaggio he said he got in person once a a show where they were both signing that day. No reason for me not to believe him, he had an amazing life, career, stories, and memorabilia, can't imagine he would lie to me, and no way he faked it himself. But again, that one has never been in front of an authentication either.

And the Robinson is authenticated by JSA.

thetruthisoutthere 12-08-2013 10:02 AM

Definitely NOT authentic.

Please post a photo of the entire "Mickey Mantle" signature on that baseball.

estaples 12-08-2013 10:12 AM

Ok then DiMaggio not for sale I'll keep it myself with the Clyde Sukforth ball, guy I got it from, and man that signed jackie Robinson to the majors;) I'm pretty certain the DiMaggio is ok, again done for Clyde in person, but ok, not for sale, I don't want any issues!!

Jackie Robinson, still available for sale, unless I find something to frame with it first, then I'll keep it with these other two, good to go together anyway, since he's the scout that brought jackie to the pros;)

Could you send me some photos of the book itself? I'm very interested and I'd probably get it rebound with a custom cover and I'm curious if the book itself is in good enough shape to do that. Thank you.

Yes, it could certainly be rebound in my opinion, just the spine is shoot, and cover some smoke damage or something, but actually all intact and tight, pages clean, remarkably descent otherwise. Some more pics so all can see, again sorry if pics are twisted around, I don't know why.

Not sure why your so stuck on the Mantle, again I already have authentication on it packed away, ball itself has been packed away for 15+ years. And again, not really for sale, means more than the stack of cash to me, as I said, my parents bought it for me, it's legit, no need to bash it, but here's some more pics of it in the display it's in, also, the Clyde Sukforth in back of it and the DiMaggio, and bob feller of to far left, that one was my grandfathers. My great grandfather was close friends and hunted with Clyde throughout their lives, one of the reasons I came to know Clyde and about him and his baseball accomplishments.

Another pic, and again please don't make accusations, like I said, I'm not trying to fool anyone, actually not even trying to sell it, and your calling it fake before know anything about it, but little did you know it's been authenticated a long time ago!! I'm set with it, but if have any questions about anything else or need more pics please let me know, would be happy to share.

Jackie Robinson is SOLD

That is not a UDA Mantle signed baseball.

estaples 12-08-2013 04:28 PM

Oh but I assure it is;) Wow, who are you anyway?? Well, not sure why you keep worrying about it so much, but you must be more of an authority on it then they are. Another, reason I'm not really into autographs anymore, this whole side of the hobby has been completely killed by forgeries and marketing for authentication and all the problems with those companies being fake too, bottom line is who knows what's fake or real out there anymore?? But what I can assure you of, is nor you or I were there period!! Wish I were though;) But, anyway, it has enough authentication for me, I'M happy with it, again thanks for the concerns, and is not for sale to you, period, so don't worry about it please.

Can you please post a pic of the UDA hologram?

I was fortunate enough to be able to buy this book from Eric. I bought an identical unsigned book in much better condition and had the signed page removed and bound into the pristine copy. The result is a pristine signed first edition of Jackie Robinson's 1948 autobiography.
