In the Dug-out
Show your pre-war photos of players in the dugout.
Here is my favorite, the 1936 Giants with Bill Terry, and I think I spot Ott and Hubbell in profile. |

well, that was a bust. Let me see if I can find some forged Mantle baseballs :)

Scott, I think part of the problem is your post requires responders to actually have something to offer other than kneejerk opinions ;)
1923 John McGraw http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...0768_front.jpg Here's one of Joe DiMaggio and Joe McCarthy watching a telecast of the official American League Sound Motion Picture "First Century of Baseball" in the dugout at Yankee Stadium. Both men appeared in the film, and this photo was released by the American League Professional Base Ball Clubs to promote this film which was distributed free of charge by GM in celebration of the baseball centennial. Nice shot of these two mighty Yankees, and perhaps even more interestingly, of the vintage 1939 television on which they are watching the broadcast. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...0526_front.jpg Also sort of pre-war, in that this is a photo of the surviving members of the 1914 Miracle Braves at a reunion that was conducted as the Braves' contribution to the celebration of the National League's 75th anniversary rather than specifically related to a benchmark anniversary date associated with the Miracle Braves. The reunion took place on June 2, 1951, and the ex-players photographed in the dugout include, from left to right, Butch Schmidt, Bert Whaling, George Stallings Jr. (Sr. was the manager of the 1914 Braves, but died in 1929), Les Mann, Red Smith, Dick Crutcher, George Tyler, Herb Moran, Charlie Deal, Paul Strand, Fred Mitchell, Hank Gowdy and Bill James. Crutcher and Schmidt died the following year, so this is likely one of the last photos of them in uniform. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...7/L07022_1.jpg |
nice, Lance :)
Here's a Mantle from a ball, just to maintain thread interest: |

I love it. Some day I will obtain a Gehrig autograph.
