Something must be done!! ebay auctions

OMFG!!! Let's settle this. Is anyone gonna want a bent in half t206 with 2 holes punched in it for $19????
This is so frustrating. For months now this seller has been listing these cards over and over and over again. He has 366 t206's. At 50 items per page that's 7 full pages I have to look thru every week.
When I try to ask a question to tell them how I feel, this is what I get (
We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of messages this seller receives, they are unable to respond to your specific question right now. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing.) I have never seen this before.
If anyone knows them, please ask them to stop listing these cards as BIN's and start them at $.99 and get it over with.
Haven't seen a Seinfeld quote lately so here it is. "Just take one dip and END IT."
For bonus points, who said that?

I'm pretty sure he's a board member here, maybe he will chime in.

link please?

Why not just exclude them from your searches. That would solve the problem.

Problem solved

Agreed

ullmandds 12-01-2013 06:11 PM

Really! Just don't look at their crap!

Phillies*phan 12-01-2013 06:17 PM

Oh Wow. I found it. I really didn't know you could exclude a seller. Thanks.

George Cantstandya's girlfriends brother Bobby? ;) ;)

Phillies*phan 12-01-2013 06:20 PM

That is right! One of my favorite scenes.

Timmy said it.:)

Her brother's name was Tim, not Bobby....but George called him Timmy.

Doug:

Ironically enough, I just put a listing on the BST to try and get rid of some of them and others, and then saw this thread on the main board.

I've never heard of that type of response when attempting to send someone a message. I don't recall receiving a message from you on eBay within the last few months, though you and I have done some deals via e-mail.

Something I don't really understand is publicly complaining about how someone else sells, especially if they're selling things ethically and trying to always be as courteous as possible to anyone when selling, and when buying. I do understand having to sift through items, and I've also blocked sellers from my searches, and usually just search auctions to avoid most of the re-listed items. I also know I've missed many items for my collection due to only searching auctions.

As a school teacher who also is a music director at my church, I started doing this on the side a few years ago to supplement that income, and I would say I have done pretty well. I've also enjoyed every minute of it, especially getting to know many members on here. As we have to do in anything we ever do, we learn as we go, so, I've tried to remind myself to not complain or critique about the method in which someone sells something, as it sometimes can scream a subconscious method for self-aggrandizement.

I'd like to hear the progression that other sellers have taken on this board. I understand and hope to go to the strict auction route, but am not in that position yet --- nearly entirely due to time-constraints. I essentially have 3 jobs, and also have a large garden (vegetables, etc) in my backyard that my wife and I attend daily. I simply wouldn't be able to efficiently ship items out if I were selling 100 items a week.

It's slightly perturbing to see "Something must be done!! the_coop eBay auctions" on the main board, appearing as though something fraudulent has occurred, when in fact, all I am guilty of is re-listing items once the 30 day period has expired. Sorry??? This receives a title as cautioning as other threads that are a computer-screen-inch away from detailed threads of some other sellers who at the very least allow rampant shill bidding to occur in their listings.

I've got nothing against you Doug, and have enjoyed every transaction we've done, so I'm glad that you were able to problem solve and block me from your searches.

npa589 12-01-2013 06:52 PM

Oh, and BTW, fantastic Seinfeld episode...

frankbmd 12-01-2013 07:07 PM

I agree with Nate that the original thread title is unfair. I have found him ethical and responsive. He has purchased from me and I from him without any problems. There are lots of folks who list things on Ebay for more than I would pay, but that doesn't make them all evil.

Personally I spend very little time searching all the BINs and concentrate on auctions ending soonest in my searches, but to each his own. Keep up the good work Nate.

Added: The original title has been changed to Doug's credit. I also think the overpriced clutter on Ebay impedes navigating the site, which explains why I primarily limit searches to auctions only.

1. Change your view setting to 200 per page.

2. I went through Nate's listings earlier today and found the prices to be quite fair.

3. My dealings and especially communications with Nate have been A+.

4. Not sure the "issues" you raise we're worth the time you put in.

Ok. I'm better now. Sorry, I didn't know it was Nate as i too have done several transactions with him. I just can't handle all the same auctions.
When I search I just type in "t206-reprint" so I don't miss anything. I really couldn't avoid them.
If Ebay would have let me send a ? it would have been avoided.

npa589 12-01-2013 07:23 PM

Just had a conversation with Doug, everything is great... --- there have been a few times I have refrained from sending a message to someone on eBay or posting a thread...so I understand where he is coming from. I also appreciate that he quickly changed the title.

Guys --- I'll be honest, I've blocked myself from my searches. lol! As I said to Doug, it's just the best method I have right now for selling.

I do try to keep very fair prices, and if you contact me, I guarantee I'll work with you on price. I just looked in my store and saw some ridiculously ove priced items, probably a listing error when trying to create listings via Turbo Lister.

There have also been times where (if you look at the 2014 collecting goals thread) where I'm stubborn with prices and due to my love for haggling, I'll counter back with a price when there is no need to counter with a price. I've gradually gotten better at just accepting an offer on eBay or off eBay, if it's a fair offer. I'm still relatively new to this hobby, and always am looking to glean whatever I can from the members with more experience and expertise than me.

Lgarza99 12-01-2013 07:58 PM

Nate,

I'm glad you guys worked out.

I too have had great transactions with Nate and he has lent me some great insight into this hobby. Very responsive to my emails and very fair prices.

Have a great night all!

npa589 12-01-2013 08:18 PM

Hey Luis! 75% of the information I have gleaned has been from this board.

Doug is a great seller and member on this board. I really do understand where he is coming from.
