How did everyone do???
|
Further proof that my attempts to define and stick to a collecting goal is a useless endeavor. But I like all three of my pickups.

Same here Mark, I have no business picking up any T206 non-Tolstoi's, but I couldn't resist!
|
I am happy of my first auction house purchase, i think i did well with these 2 cards. 2 more goudey for my set.
Sorry for my big scan, it is the sterling auction website picture. http://i55.servimg.com/u/f55/11/52/54/64/20805a10.jpg http://i55.servimg.com/u/f55/11/52/54/64/20442a11.jpg |

I love the color of the cuccinello, i have no plan to bid on it but when i saw the price i took the decision to bid only 1 time and hop i won it at 32$ :) For the cochrane i looked for a sgc 40 since couple time on ebay, but on ebay the price was always too high. My first experience with a auction house and i think i will repeat this experience in a near futur :) Thanks mark !! |

Here's mine from this month. I really like the Sterling Auctions. Looks like it's gaining in popularity though. I probably overpaid for the EPDG Reulbach, but I wanted it. For me, trying to put together a lower grade collection, each month I've been able to pick up a few at what I consider very reasonable prices. These were the only four I bid on and my max held up on each of them:

Nice cards everyone.
The 57 mantle , i love this card. Congrat Rob |
my lone win
I was the only bidder on this one. Thought many of the T206s went on the cheap...

Someone must have really, really wanted the T213 Donlin, I finally gave up :(
I did manage to add a couple of cards to my sets I am working on, so I am happy. I enjoy Lee's auctions. |
19th Century Trades

I had multiple bids in on the 19th Century Trade Cards. The H804-8A Sporting Life received solid bids, all going for $110-150 each with the juice.
Even the H804-11 Cosacks represented well, gathering strong prices at $100-140 each. I had to settle for my first H804-8B Sporting Life, but very happy with this card for my trade type set. |
Got a complete set of these for about a buck a card. Thought they looked cool.

Agreed Erick, I picked up the O'Neil SGC 40 for $26+BP. Pretty cheap for a fairly tough common. |

I'm always looking to add Skydash T210's and this Lovell was an upgrade for my set to boot.

My pickups
Picked up two T206 Cubbies that I still needed, and loved the fact that the Rube Kroh with the SC 350 30 back also had a Toy Town stamp.
Oh, and nice Reulbach EPDG...now I know who beat me out for it! http://sterlingsportsauctions.com/It...0693a_med.jpeg http://sterlingsportsauctions.com/It...0693b_med.jpeg http://sterlingsportsauctions.com/It...0557a_med.jpeg http://sterlingsportsauctions.com/It...0557b_med.jpeg |

Finally won my favorite t206.

My first Tattoo at great price--fantastic looking clean Lefty Grove tho presumably very slightly trimmed. I don't like SGC normally mounting these so low but this one is closer to center.

My First Matty

Finally grabbed my first Matty. I put in 3 max bids on opening day and they all held up. :)
|
Love that matty. I used to have that card then got rid of it why ill never know haha. Great pick ups though.
I scored a few from this past auction. One i really liked for my 34 Goudey Set. John Frederick PSA 6. I also picked up these for some cheap money to put into the collection. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...20799a_med.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...20746a_med.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...20941a_med.jpg |
Got my winnings in the mail today. Super quick and well packaged!

I am no longer spinning aimlessly since I got my Orbits
http://www.collectorfocus.com/images...3-cissell-r305 http://www.collectorfocus.com/images...3-collins-r305 Thanks Lee |
I said earlier, I hate how SGC (for some reason) usually leaves a lot of space between edge of the Tattoos and their black insert--and also mounts them too low instead of roughly centered. One reason I bought the Grove card that I posted earlier, since SGC did it a little differently with that....
