Help with this T206 Evers PSA Grade
Well-centered, colorful card. No paper loss that I can see. Why the low grade?

I can see several creases but it almost looks like there is a bit of missing paper under the A in Chicago.
Looks like several creases and some staining on an off center back. There looks like there could be some kind of ink mark near the "T" the second "S" word "Subjects" too. Still a great 1!
looks like maybe erasure below evers, chicago?

Here's a crop of the area in question. Not perfect but not paper loss or erasure that I can tell...

What about on the back near the word "Subjects?" Looks like some kind of stray ink near the letters T and S.
Here's that crop.

Hmm hard to tell if that's extra ink or just printing flaws.
Can you post full high res scans of f & b?
Sure. I'll scan a higher res version tonight.
nice scans!!!! beats me as to why!!!
Joe, very nice card for the grade. It looks like there may be a small spot
of paper loss on the right border even with the very top of his cap. |
Because you're not an auction house or former PSA grader? :-)
Really nice card. There are many creases on the card, aside from other questions previously posed about the card. With the creases alone, the best you may hope for is a 2. Perhaps a re-sub is in order?
crack and resubmit for the 2.5
that must have been one of Dan's submissions before psa banned him!

Most of the top third of the card is a web of creases. And there are issues on the bottom edge and more creasing in the bottom third. Yes, it is a good-looking 1. Maybe it could have gotten a 1.5 or possibly a 2 on a great day. I have a T206 Rube Waddell that got a 2 without a single crease anywhere...just off centering, corner wear and a light bit of soiling. Cheers, Blair |
---and I thought Stevie Wonder left PSA for a music career!
I'd wager that SGC would grade as a 30.
Disagree about the web of creases, I have much worse on much higher grades. Things look a bit different at that resolution. I'm thinking SGC 30-35 myself. I'll crack and resubmit and report the results.

Those are more like wrinkles.. My guess is SGC 30-40. Very nice card.
20-30 all day...i doubt 40?
I'll take that, Pete.
will a slight bump make you like it more? it's a very nice card.
It is mis-graded; simple as that.

If that's a PSA 1 I'll eat my shorts.

Nice card Joe. Is there any surface abrasion along the back right edge? It's a fantastic card regardless of the grade it gets from SGC.

I agree with most on here. A 2-2.5 is where I would put it. Must have been a bad day for the grader and taking it out on your card. |
I count maybe a dozen wrinkles and creases. I agree, a one is a bit tough, but I can't see it in anything higher than a two. Still nice!
I think it's kinda funny/strange there seems to be more interest in a mildly misgraded common T206...than a fake Magie error!!!
Funny! |

But on a serious note. Evers is more attainable for most folks. Magie vs. Magee is of no consequence to the average board member except as a cautionary tale of fraud. |
i suppose I see your point, Mike. I wasn't calling Johny a common...just a common t206!:D

Well, it's a beautiful card regardless of the grade!!
Here's my yellow background with a bit of a webbed crease in the upper left corner and it is graded a VG 3.....I think your card deserves a bump :D Sincerely, Clayton |
