Why did these topps sheets go for such big $$$??
Hi All:
Can someone please tell me why these two uncut sheets went for such big money? http://sports.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...lotIdNo=261002 http://sports.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...003&domain=all |
9k and 4500 seems like a bunch of $$$ on these. I dont know why.
Maybe they had a hard time finding nice clean edges on those black cards. LOL |
I don't track this set so don't know what 9's and 10's sell for but you can guarantee a good number of these end up in PSA slabs in the next 16 weeks.

Could be mistaken, but I believe that graders have means to identify cutting techniques by examining cut edges under magnification, but would they bother in this case?

You can easily tell whether or not a 1971 Topps card is hand cut if you have it in hand. These will more than likely end up in BVG slabs where they accept hand-cut cards.

Did Topps employ some sort of unique printing press that cut cards differently then any printing press set up with the proper dimensions can't do today?
