Question on a T206 Error, sponsored by Sullivan the Streetwalker
First:
Sullivan the Streetwalker;) http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/...f.jpg~original Second, I was wondering if anyone has seen a back marking similar to this? I know there are plenty of examples of marks from plates, etc, but this one seems purposeful. Typically marks are stray, and not circular. It's Ira Thomas on the front for those who are curious: http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original . . . |
Nice Nate! Haven't seen a marking like it. Found this one in a large lot recently. Weird.

Same here in that I found it in a large lot. It's one of the joys of searching through a few stacks of T206s. Also in it was a Piedy 42 of Pelty, which was not listed in the catalog.
If only we could see the reverses of the cards surrounding both of our examples on the sheet...it would reveal so much... |

Hi Nate
Looks like a color shift on the Sullivan giving him a Kool-Aid mustache. As far as the Thomas, I've never seen this mark before, but it looks like there are others. Here is another Thomas which looks to have the same mark in the bottom right corner, albeit faded/worn away. Jantz |
Very interesting on the Thomas, thanks for sharing Jantz.

Very interesting cards, Nate. Hopefully you do know that you can remove those weird marks with software.
I have never seen an odd little mark like the one on your back scan, but Sullivan is reminiscent of the famous purple-background "Lipstick Joe" Jackson caramel cards. |
