Strippers need some love, too!

What? Where you expecting something else?:D I just read a few comments about strip cards on the Babe Ruth Price thread. In some cases a Strip Card is the only way a HOF guy is affordable.:)

You need to "downgrade" your Frisch to an SGC A. That 30 just looks so weird amongst the sea of A's!
I, too, am a bit disappointed with the content of this thread (given the thread name)!! I'll add some of my strippers later. |

a few of my "strippers"
I know there are quite a few out there who are against "strippers", but I happen to like them...most won't break the bank, but some are quite costly, especially the "Babe's"!!

sorry
i think strip cards are awful!
1. Ugly as sin... 2. Never resembles player... 3. Never graded properly 4. can be recut ANYTIME and still be graded... Yuck Yuck Yuck |
Your opinion is duly noted and in the context of this thread, summarily ignored.:D:eek::)

1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 2. See my post above and many other posts...sometimes true but many times not true. 3. graded properly when duly noted they are hand cut (IMO) 4. True but only if they still meet size requirements. Agree otherwise.... Many collectors don't like strip cards which means less competition...which is good for those of us that do like them. Here are a few more and a W that Mr.Burdick got wrong.. |

The same is probably true of W502. The cards in my 1928 set are consistent in size and cut, unlike the similar W590s I have. There are too few of the 1931 W502 issue for me to be convinced of how they were issued, but, again, the cards I have are all the same size, though cuts vary somewhat. |

Tons in my collection, so I'll try to avoid ones that have already been posted. I guess I'm taking a few liberties on "strip cards" with the Maris. However, they were issued in strips of 3, so technically, I think that would make them a strip card... Also, included both the Green and White jersey printing variations of the mp co Doby...

1943 M & P strip cards
These two scans form a continuous strip of 8 cards as this M & P issue was originally printed and marketed.

Dave,
The W515's are regularly confused, as SGC has done here. Yours is a W515-1. Christopher. Quote:

Hey Denny I looked at this thread and saw that I hadn't answered you. Sorry about that. One of the four I have seen before but have seen quite a few (maybe 50-60) from the set as a whole, including the large group Lew Lipset sold a few years ago. I don't think Burdick classified them. ....here is another strip... http://luckeycards.com/pw5298ruthsheet.jpeg |
