Cool story, and nice to put a face to the name. I actually really liked the photo of the Washington Times cards more. What incredible cards. Nice display in the background also. Dan, you should show more of your collection.

Dan once loaned me $20 at a show after I spent all my money right before finding a deal I couldn't pass up. I just read this article, so I'd say we are even.

That was my $20, he said you took it.:confused:

Dan is one of my favorite people in the hobby, was very happy to see this. Being around his old man as a kid was one of my childhood collecting moments that I will never forget....of course I didn't know Dan then he was too busy chasing girls.

The article mentions that a few HoFers will be for sale again soon? Or did I misinterpret the article?? I'm interested to know (a) which HOF rookie collector bought them and (b) which cards will be available???

Any of these cards would trump the "1 of 1" thread that's currently up!!

Kudos to Jonathan Pitts, the author of this piece.

It is some kind of minor miracle that somebody wrote a piece like this for a non-hobby publication. And gave readers the impression that collecting was not dead, cards were not worthless, etc.

There is hope yet...

Nice to see a good story about the hobby and one of the good guys involved in it.

Great article. I was thinking how funny/sad it is the article would probably be one of like 2-3 in the entire paper that I'd be interested in reading. :)

So, Dan, am I correct in thinking that if I were to make you a six-figure offer for your 1910 Wash. Times collection or your WaJo collection, I might be able to acquire one of them?! :D

Who is this collector who acquired the set from Dan and is now selling off the cards? Is it an open secret that I just haven't been clued in on yet or is the guy unknown to the Net54 board?
