This card is listed on ebay for $9775, is it worth it? what would be a realistic price to offer?

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Seems a bit high but wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if it sold for $5000 or full price. You never know with these kinds of cards. It only takes one person in the entire world to think "that's awesome, I have to have it" even though everyone else might not think so.
My advice is, if you want it to keep forever, get it. If you think that you might try to sell it down the road, maybe not.
