Slightly OT...help identifying rifle?
Any rifle experts out there...I need help identifying a bolt action rifle.
pls email me at ullmandds@gmail.com |
How is this only slightly off-topic? :)
I opened it thinking it was about Chuck Connors and you had a card of his you couldn't identify |
I'll try to help. I tried to send you a PM, but it said that you exceeded your storage capacity. Do you have a pic? Also, are there any markings engraved into it?

i have pics...and there are markings on it...but I'm having issues uploading scans right now.
On the bolt is what looks like a #1...on the safety is a letter E. There is the # 971183 below the scope...and there is a little picture of what looks like maybe a flame...and K.6 on the barrel towards the chamber. I deleted my inbox...should be better now Dave. |

Looking at the pic, it looks like a Remington Model 700
|
There's not a manufacturer's stamp on the left side of the barrel?
|

|
I'm going to take the scope off tonight...which should reveal some info. Thanks so far for the help.
Don't worry guys...I don't need guns for intimidation...I have a dangerous cat! |
What caliber?....that does look like a Remington 700 ADL....great guns...I use a Remington Model 700 ADL .270 for deer hunting....gets the job done...the proofs on the wall....:D

Guys...it is a US model of 1917 Eddystone...made sept 1918. I believe it was made by remington...atleast the bolt was...the barrel's marks don't seem to jive with what was originally there.
It also appears to be a 30/06. I'm guessing some of the original parts were changed over the years for use. Any more help would be appreciated! |
