Best Virtual Card Album Services?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what is the best service to use for virtual card albums. Factors I would consider are price, ease of use, storage capacity, back up capability and anything else that people consider when selecting one of these services.

I have just started putting cards on my Mac's IPhoto, but not sure if that is the way to go.

Hi Ken,

I'm considering using jAlbum for my website ( I have no connection to them, I just found this looking for something to display my own collection). The software is free, but if you want to use it without any advertisements, it looks like there's a one time license fee. $39 for a standard license, $89 for a pro license (for use on a commercial site). Lots of different skins, and it's completely customizable.

I've also seen some collectors use this:

Why not just use this free album from a reputable source...

I'm going add my scans here someday...:D

Imageevent is great and only $25 a year...

I use photobucket. It was free and is pretty user friendly. You can drag and drop photos from your desktop right into the albums. I am honestly not sure if there is a cap on the number of pictures you can upload, but I would say I am somewhere over 200 at this point and have not reached any limits.

Flickr gives you 1TB of space for free.

I agree Imageevent works great for $25 year. Photobucket is free, but it doesn't look nearly as sharp. Here's my page:

Net54 album

Anyone else using the Net54 album? It is easy to upload scans and it provides some nice pictures, but I can't find a way to move photos around. For instance, I want to put my scans in order by last name. When you upload a photo, the last photo uploaded will be the first photo in the album. I would like to take this photo and move it so it is alphabetical order.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Rick

Incredible stuff, one of the nicest collections I have seen.

Jeff, you have some very nice stuff. Love the Walter Johnson photo. Many of the postcards I had not seen before.

I really like Google's free Picasa webhosting service. You can easily upload, share and... My personal fav... Flip through your collection on your smartphone or tablet using your web album.

This thread got me motivated to deal with my situation. A few years back, I started using Photobucket (free), but I had a lot of problems. Not the least of which was that I went to great lengths to set up folders and sub-folders organizing my collection, and then good old Photobucket made a bunch of changes that totally scrambled my little site. It was such a mess that I just abandoned it.

I confess, I'm too cheap to pay for image hosting in this day and age. And I knew about Collector Focus (free). So I signed up over the weekend, and in no time flat, I had the beginnings of a new display for my collection.

Please follow the link below if you are interested in checking it out! (I'm only about 1/3 of the way there, so feel free to check back over the next month or so as I continue the uploads.)
