Joey,

Great pick-up! The clarity in both of those guys' pinstripes is really stellar. Especially considering how much lighter Hornsby's were.

another nice one Joey.....great clarity. I did photos for a few years but cards are my passion so went back to them. But man, some of those photos are awesome.

Joey, you are kind of going crazy lately with the Ruth pick-ups - you have a good eye for these.

Scott- lol..if I never wouldve seen ben's collection Id have alot more money in my pocket right now. Thanks for the compliment. I learned alot from yee/ fogal's book so I find myself alot more pickier now when looking at photos. Saved my a $$ a few times. Ruth's photos are just classic and keep me passionate about the hobby. Cant wait for yee's and rhys' s auctions

Joey,

Will Yee's and Yeakley's auctions be the first big ones in which you're focusing on photos? If so, be ready to hear the sound of your jaw hitting the ground many times. Yee's offerings are ALWAYS top notch, and if Rhys' stuff from Chicago is any indication, his company is gonna have some KILLER stuff.

Graig- I cant wait! Ive seen his previous auctions and was blown away. Ive mainly been buying from memory lane and a couple other guys. Do you know when his auction is supposed to start (yee's)?

GKreindler 09-05-2013 03:23 PM

I know not, Joey. I've heard whispers of a holiday auction, but I have no clue as to the validity of the claim. It might even be worth dropping Henry an email - he's a wonderful gent to talk to.

My problem is that I can't figure out whether I'd like to know in advance, or be surprised when it's up. They're certainly pros and cons of both. And that's merely from the point of a (most of the time) spectator.

I had the opportunity to pick up this Ruth photo for $10. I sincerely hope I didn't pay too much.

I also hope Joey doesn't mind me hijacking one of his Ruth photo pick-up threads.
