Jay Pub. Hank Aaron Question
Hi guys. Didn't know which section to post this in, figured it's more memorabilia than card.
I have seen this photo with both Hank and Henry. Hank seems to be the common version. I would like to send a few of these to psa and noticed that they list these 2 variations under the type 1 set. Hank Aaron PORTRAIT-POSE TO NECK Hank Aaron BATTING Is this photo from a different set or has a Henry variation not been graded? Thanks http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps84d13723.jpg |
there has been one graded - a PSA 1.
they list it under - Henry Aaron Outfielder. Unfortunately, PSA organizes the Jay Pubs by first name so all the Hank Aarons aren't together in the checklist. |
Actually it is in the pop report where the Aaron variations are listed separately by first name.

Thanks for the response. I found this for the "outfielder" variation.

wow...now i see. i had to go get my aarons out of the closet! you are right - my Hank Aaron batting - has the exact same picture as your "Henry" Aaron variety. that is awesome! I think you do have a new variation. very exciting! i have three different 1958 - 61 Jay Pub Aarons - but my only Henry variety is the headshot - not the batting pose...
Cool pickup! If you have extras - I'll take one! Les |
So, my Aaron batting with the palm trees is cropped differently; the tree on the upper right is cut off and his right foot is closer to the bottom margin.

Interesting. Thanks.

For the record, the portrait pose in the slab that PSA has identified as a Jay Publishing picture is NOT.
ALL true Jay Publishing pictures have the full team name and no position. |
Bob,
Good catch! I keep missing the details; yes, it must say Milwaukee Braves. That must be a team issue vice a Jay Publishing. |
