Probably erased but left an indentation, as so often happens. It counts the same as a mark.

Could be a very faint pencil mark. I can't figure out how to make ebay images zoom in anymore to see for sure.

This card had a similar issue:

The MK on it comes from a pencil mark on his sleeve that looks like it should actually be there.

Looks like there is a small "P" penciled in on the lower left (facing) border.
