Many on this site visit the Our Game blog by Baseball's Official Historian John Thorn. If you have not of late I would encourage all of you to read the piece he has posted by F.C. Lane.

Mr. Lane was the editior of the original BASEBALL MAGAZINE and his 1917 piece on the mental and baseball make-up of Jackson is incredible as is his comparison to Cobb.

Well worth the read!
