I wanted opinions on this 1915 cracker jack please and thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Those are some small scans, but the font looks ok, there is that CJ tilt in the card and the uniform color blends in with the border so all that looks good.

This will certainly be an interesting sale.

What about this one?

Theo_450 08-10-2013 04:24 PM

They look real to me, but somewhat "washed out". Maybe I am just used to looking at my own dirty ones. Could they have been soaked? I don't even know if you can soak a CJ. Just a thought.

I added a scan of one I have in a PSA 2.5 holder. Not so sure after comparing the two, of course the scanners make a difference. The texture and the colors seem off. Hope this helps!

Looks fine to me - CJs come is many different shades....

Theo_450 08-11-2013 08:54 AM

The only CJs I have ever held have been the ones I have had forever. They are all from the same place, and have been together since they were originally collected. So, they all have the same type and amount of wear. They all look extremely similar in condition and color.

I think it is interesting that a different person who actively collects and gets cards from lots of different places is more aware of the subtle differences that can exist within a set.

Just an observation.

Thanks everyone for your help. I have word from someone involved with this auction that one of the cards has been sent to an authenticator, but I do not know which card or authenticator. I will post the results of this card as soon as I get word. I find this very interesting and I believe this could be one heck of a surprise come auction day.

So your not sending this find to a TPG? Auctioning them raw after a few remarks on a message board?

Brock...that looks suspect

It's not his auction.
