Is this a real official season jersey or a replica?
 

This is an item someone is interested in consigning to my company. Trying to perform due diligence to accurately appraise this jersey. He acquired it in 1989 at a children's benefit/ charity event at auction.

It is advertised as being a real MLB issue jersey from the 1989 season (when reggie was hitting coach for the A's)

Unfortunately, I don't think it is.....Reggie wasn't on the coaching staff in 1989 (Rettenmund was their hitting coach)...This Rawlings Tag Primer may be of some help too...It refers to that style tagging never being found with a common player (just superstars):
