Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, the pickings are slim. Card shops that carry a nice selection of singles...much less pre-war...have pretty much gone by the wayside in Southeastern PA. I did come across one in Delaware County a few years back that had an assortment of beaters and trimmed cards at premium prices, if you're into that sort of thing. There are probably a ton of places to buy packs of new product, such as Target, Wal-Mart, and smaller stores that cater to a wider market of collectors...think Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon; however, the traditional brick-and-mortar sports card store is rarer than an honest politician around here. There is a fairly large show at the Valley Forge Convention Center on a somewhat regular basis that I try to attend as often as possible. There is also one in Oaks, PA that draws quite a few dealers. The other shows very close to where I live (about an hour west of Philly) leave much to be desired. As for the itch to pick up cards, I have found the B/S/T here on Net54 to be a great route to take, and have been picking up a card or two per week lately. You may want to give it a shot. Either way, I plan to attend the next Valley Forge Show. If you're going, PM me ahead of time. Perhaps we can take a moment to introduce ourselves. :) Best Regards, Eric |
I usually always go to the valley forge show but unfortunately I have a wedding to attend in September. I have been picking cards up on ebay but it's not really scratching the itch to go browse a show.

Chantilly is fairly accessbile to Philly and offers a nice option.

Nothing I know of in the Philadelphia area...but I haven't really looked all that hard being honest. I just figured card shops have gone the way of the dodo seems Eric has just confirmed that.
